Engineering Support and FAQ Questions
|
Whether your application requires a 6' x 6' Econo Welding Screen with casters or a 16' x 16' high speed roll-up door with category 4 safety interlocks and a special control box, our staff of mechanical and electrical engineers, draftsman and inside sales team are prepared to
support your application.
For years we have earned a reputation for engineering and designing solutions for customers that outperform the competition. With over 30 years of experience with fabrics, doors, and metal fabrication Frommelt Safety can offer a wide range of manual and automated products for Area Protection and Machine Guarding applications.
Many of our product designs have come from working closely with our customers. We listen to the needs of your application, and engineer products that solve those needs. We continue to engineer and design products for specific applications on a weekly basis. This pursuit of new applications and testing drives our engineering and management to introduce new and improved products.
All of our existing products have gone through an extensive 5 phase engineering process that insures design limits, component testing, cycle counts and prototypes. Although sometimes a lengthy process, this guarantees millions of cycles on our products. This is mandatory for the extreme application some of our automotive customers demand.
For any special product requests or to discuss possible ideas for a new application, please contact our Product Manager--Gerry Timms at 414-362-6379.
Questions & Answers.
What types of fabrics should I use? We offer many fabrics from PVC strips and curtains in different colors and thickness to opaque materials and fire rated fabrics. We will send you fabric samples and offer the proper material for your application.
Where would I use a High Speed Barrier Door? In front of a machine that you need to keep people away from while the machine is operating or to separate two areas that need to open and close quickly.
Why use a Barrier Door? To protect employees from flying debris, weld flash and entry into harmful areas while machines or robots are operating. SlimLine Barrier doors offer barrier curtain protection and have Category 4 safety interlock switches that will cut power to a machine or robot if the door curtain is impacted or lifted.
I have a robot but need a complete enclosure for protection! Frommelt Safety offers CAD drawings of our fencing, doors, fume extraction and fabric choices. We can provide a complete custom enclosure for any application.
Why buy a Fume Extractor or Fume Collector? Capturing weld fumes or toxic smoke will improve overall plant safety and improve your energy costs. Frommelt Safety is committed to assisting customers with the most affordable fume collection products that will capture, clean and release filtered air back into your facility.
How do we reduce decibel noise levels in our plant? There are many ways of achieving noise reduction. Frommelt Safety can design and manufacture fabric absorber barrier curtains that can be hung as a separation barrier or we can design an enclosure to encapsulate the noise source. Our factory representative will come to your facility and offer options and solutions for your application.
What solutions are available for conveyor openings? We have automated curtains and doors that can be fully integrated into a palletizing application. We use photo eyes or sensors to activate our door. All controls are tied into your PLC controller. |
